Green Waziristan Drive

Lt. Gen Shaheen Mazhar Mehmood, Commander 11 Corps and Chairman, Mahsud Welfare Association, Rehmat Khan Mahsud, AddI. IGP (Retd.) launched Green Waziristan Drive on the auspicious occasion of ground breaking of Waziristan Education City in Tribal District South Waziristan. Lt. General Shaheen Mazhar Mehmood Commander said that the drive is aimed at protecting the future of Pakistan. He said that plantation drive will not only positively impact climate but will also contribute towards economic prosperity of the common man. Rehamt Khan Mahsud while talking to media on the occasion stated that around one hundred thousand new trees will be planted in the drive.

Agriculture Research Institute Tharnab Farms Peshawar Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in collaboration with Agricultural Research Council Islamabad distributed Olive Plants among community members. Professor Dr. Saad Salman Mahsud of Gomal University Dera Ismail Khan delivered an informative lecture about importance of plantation. He stated that growing olive will not only create economic opportunities but will also reduce import bill of Pakistan. In the end the participants participated in an awareness walk about Plantation.
